One interesting feature is the changes in the requirements for the CPA Passport programme highlighted by the CPA President, Mr Richard Petty. From the gist of it, the new improved programme will enable more people to apply for the passport programme and become a CPA member. One example given by Mr Petty is that the old programme requirement used to stress the importance of accredited degree by the CPA to be able to apply.
The book drive is one of the initiatives by CPA Australia to improve people views on what the organisation is doing and also to improve their Corporate Social Responsibility. Mr Petty also stated that CPA Australia is the only one (among all the other accounting bodies) to have done this community service so far.
