Charity Event 2010


On the 30th October Saturday morning, Leo club of Swinburne Sarawak and CPA Australia Student Charter Swinburne Sarawak (CPAASC) had a charity event at the Salvation Army Children’s Home located at Jalan Upland.

The event started at 8.30am with a total of 10 Leo members and 40 CPAASC members attending. During the event, the members were separate in 3 groups to allocate the task such as painting the playground, cleaning the compound area and preparing lunch for the children. They have spent their patient and energy to work very hard to give those children a wonderful living environment. Some of the members had donated cloth, shoes, and etc to the children.

Young Apprentice Program 2010 (YAP)


It was great experience to all the member in YAP, all participant really sporting and cooperative!

Before YAP, all committee went and tried the validity of the clue and the road.

Swinburne Carnival 2010

Swinburne Carnival
On the Celebration of the 10th anniversary of Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak, CPAASC joined Swinburne Carnival on the 18th of September 2010.We were selling ice-cream, ice-cream bun, jelly and pearl milk tea

Therefore, the new committee members are sincerely grateful to do this event which was a successful and fruitful and allowed them to gain experience in holding this event for first time.


General Meeting Semester 2/2010

The General Meeting semester 2/2010 was held on the 8th September 2010 at Auditorium. CPAASC Committee members as well as all existing and new members are welcome to attend the General Meeting at 2:30pm.
Edina Chong, current president of CPA Club is given the announcement for the recruitment drive.



Mr Chan Soon Hua, one of the club advisors handing out a certificate to our members for completing the fiscal year of 2009.





After the meeting, members are able to enjoy delicious refreshment...hoho












On the other hand, members are required to pay their member fees. Besides, for those who attended the undergraduate conference 2010 are able to collect their certificates from committees.

CPAASC KL Trip 2010 (Day 3)

Day 3:

Deloitte





On our visit to Deloitte, Presentation was done by the Human Resource Manager and Tax
Manager of Deloitte along with Refreshment and Group photo taking with tour around the
company

Grant Thornton





SJ Grant Thornton they had a slide show presentation regarding our purpose of visit which
explains the company background and the recruitment method.

PriceWaterHouseCoopers (PWC)





PWC is our last company to visit on our trip, we were welcomed and gave a brief by the
Human Resource officer, Ms Jennifer Jane Kellady and other officers.

CPAASC KL Trip 2010 (Day 2)

Day 2:

IBM





Hr Professional, Madam Prema Amurugam briefed about IBM followed by
Managers from Accounting, Human Resource Department make their presentation on being
an IBMers. Finally tour around the company

CPA





Had a chance of Networking with students from other chartered. General Manager of CPA
Australia Audrey Danasamy and Business Development Executive of CPA Australia Edwin
Wong gave a speech. We had a chance of sharing our club achievements with them, Club
president Edina Chong had a chance to do so.

DIGI





We had a visit to DIGI head office, welcomed by Ms Catherine Kok. Presentation was
given by one of the officer incharge in DIGI followed by refreshment and company tour

CPAASC KL Trip 2010 (Day 1)

The CPA Student Charter (Swinburne Sarawak) has successfully organized its 2nd CPAASC KL INDUSTRIAL TRIP 2010 which was held on the 5th July 2010 till 7th July 2010.


In this trip, the companies that visit are big companies from Kuala Lumpur. The line up of the companies comes from different background such as the Big Four Companies, second tier accounting firm, Oil Company, also the telecommunication company. We managed to visit Crowe Howarth, Petronas Malaysia, IBM, CPA Australia, DIGI, Deloitte, SJ Grant Thornton and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC).

Presentation was given by Mr James Chan on Crowe Howarth, Refreshment was served
followed by group photo taking and tour around the company

Petronas





We were welcomed by Mr Muhammad Nazmi Dato' Dawa
Speaker, Mr Abdullah gave his presentation on Petronas history, background and working
with Petronas, Followed by Refreshment and Sky Brige tour.
