The Regional Inter-Varsity Business Conference 2011

The Regional Inter-Varsity Business Conference 2011 (RIBC) is a two – day conference which is opened to all tertiary students in Malaysia. Students from various universities and colleges throughout Malaysia are cordially invited to this event. Throughout the conference, there will be interesting talks, forum and quiz.

The main theme for the conference is “Bridging the Gap”. The theme focuses on the ‘gap’ from a graduate transforming to a successful person in the workforce as well as in life. However, there are thousands of ways in filling up the gap to reach a person’s success. The main theme of our conference is to provide essential ways to the undergraduates in connecting themselves with the real corporate world. In accordance with the theme, talks conducted during the conference helps students to understand their true potential self and how they can equip themselves for the ever so challenging corporate world.

In order to enhance a better sharing experience, undergraduates from all over Malaysia will gather during the conference to share the common message of how each individual can BRIDGE THE GAP of their lives.

Registration fees for Swinburne students is RM 45 for members and RM 55 for non-members. The fees are excluding accommodation and transportation.

Registration for Swinburne students have to be done ONLINE and cash payment booth for Swinburne students will be opened from 18 April to 22 April at Lobby, Block G. Payment after this date is to be made through direct bank-in*.

For non-Swinburne students, registration fees is RM 80 excluding accommodation and RM 100 including accommodation. Transportation for all non-local participants are provided from hotel to Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak Campus.

Registration for non-Swinburne students have to be done ONLINE and payment is to be made throughdirect bank-in method*.

Annual General Meeting, Sem 1 2011

On the 9th of March 2011, CPAASC held the 1st event of the year 2011, Annual General meeting (AGM) 2011. The emcee, Lynnette, extended a welcome speech to the advisors, committee members as well as all existing and new members to kick start the AGM.

Committees were preparing before the AGM started.

As usual, members were required to register themselves at the entrance as attendance will taken.

The crowd was a large turnout!

Our president, Mr Victor Druce was introducing the new board of commitee and also briefed on what CPAASC has done in year 2010. Besides that, he also introduced the upcoming events.

Members were concentrating on the talk given by CPAASC advisor, Mr Edwin Wong.

Members were also served with light refreshments at the end of the session and committees get to mingle with the members and answering to their enquiries or doubts.

CPAASC is hereby to say Thank You to all members for attended AGM 2011. Congratulations to members who received active member certs and once again, thank you for supporting CPAASC.

CPA Day 2010: The Race

It was held on 13th November 2010 at 9a.m. started from Swinburne Campus. The main purpose of this event is to develop teamwork among participants with a fun and enjoyable activities. Overall, we planned this event in type of treasure hunt and it was quite challenging as it need incorporate intelligence thinking and team co-operation.

Our objectives
Well, the objectives were always the same which are to instil teamwork, develop team commitment, and lastly to provide fun and enjoyable event for the members of CPA Australia Student Charter (Swinburne, Sarawak).

Every event, we would had a trial before it implemented.

This is our beginning, we started from Swinburne Campus.

Charity Event 2010

On the 30th October Saturday morning, Leo club of Swinburne Sarawak and CPA Australia Student Charter Swinburne Sarawak (CPAASC) had a charity event at the Salvation Army Children’s Home located at Jalan Upland.

The event started at 8.30am with a total of 10 Leo members and 40 CPAASC members attending. During the event, the members were separate in 3 groups to allocate the task such as painting the playground, cleaning the compound area and preparing lunch for the children. They have spent their patient and energy to work very hard to give those children a wonderful living environment. Some of the members had donated cloth, shoes, and etc to the children.

Young Apprentice Program 2010 (YAP)

It was great experience to all the member in YAP, all participant really sporting and cooperative!

Swinburne Carnival 2010

On the Celebration of the 10th anniversary of Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak, CPAASC joined Swinburne Carnival on the 18th of September 2010.We were selling ice-cream, ice-cream bun, jelly and pearl milk tea

Therefore, the new committee members are sincerely grateful to do this event which was a successful and fruitful and allowed them to gain experience in holding this event for first time.

General Meeting Semester 2/2010

The General Meeting semester 2/2010 was held on the 8th September 2010 at Auditorium. CPAASC Committee members as well as all existing and new members are welcome to attend the General Meeting at 2:30pm.

Edina Chong, current president of CPA Club is given the announcement for the recruitment drive.

Mr Chan Soon Hua, one of the club advisors handing out a certificate to our members for completing the fiscal year of 2009.

After the meeting, members are able to enjoy delicious refreshment...hoho

On the other hand, members are required to pay their member fees. Besides, for those who attended the undergraduate conference 2010 are able to collect their certificates from committees.
